Dhaka: Police arrested 17 people during a special anti-crime drive conducted in different crime-prone areas under Jatrabari Police Station in the capital on Wednesday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Jatrabari police conducted the operation on Wednesday, detaining the individuals for their alleged involvement in various offences. This was confirmed by a DMP press release issued today.
The individuals arrested have been identified as Shukkur Ali, 33; Asma Begum, 55; Tania Akter, 25; Md Jibon, 36; Riazul Islam Riaz alias Kalia Riaz, 42; Md Kamrul Hasan, 25; Md Saiful Hossain, 20; Md Jamil Mia Dolon, 35; Md Mintu alias Nazmul, 24; Sajib Mostafa, 20; Md Ujjal Hawlader; Md Rofiq, 28; Md Sazzad Nur, 20; Md Kabir Hawlader; Shamim Matubbar, 27; Md Sajib, 21; and Sagar Ahmed, 37.
Following their arrest, the individuals were sent to the court for further legal proceedings.
