Kushtia: The 164th birth anniversary of Bishwakabi Rabindranath Tagore will be celebrated nationally in Kushtia. Preparations have been made to hold a three-day cultural program on the open stage of Shilaidaha Rabindra Kuthibari on May 8, coinciding with the 25th Baishakh.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a three-day rural fair will also be organized in the district as part of the birth anniversary celebrations. Ahead of the event, a preparatory meeting took place at the Kushtia District Administration’s conference room, presided over by Deputy Commissioner Md Taufiqur Rahman. It was revealed in the meeting that Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki will serve as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the birth anniversary of Bishwakabi.
Rabindranath Tagore, regarded as the fountainhead of Bengali wisdom, was born on the 25th Baishakh in 1268 of the Bengali calendar at Jorasanko Thakurbari in Kolkata.
