Dhaka: Police have detained 16 people in special block raids in connection with different criminal activities in the Kamrangirchar area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrestees include Jumman (24), Md. Arif (19), Md. Abu Bakkar (20), Robin (22), Md. Alamgir Hossain (49), Md. Akhter Hossain (34), Md. Al Amin (22), Md. Tuhin (24), Lavlu (30), Md. Ismail (34), Md. Sharif (20), Shri Utpal Chandra Das (30), Sakir (20), Ismail (28), Sohel (32), and Sajal (22). The raids were conducted from Wednesday 5:30 pm to today’s 2:00 am, as revealed by a media release from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
The DMP media release stated that the arrests were made after conducting block raids in various crime-prone areas under the jurisdiction of Kamrangirchar Police Station. Police identified the arrested individuals as including known drug peddlers, professional robbers, extortionists, terrorists, thieves, and other criminals involved in diverse illegal activities.
Following their arrest, the individuals have been sent to court for further legal proceedings.
