Chattogram: A total of 15,000 dogs in 41 wards of Chattogram city will be administered with rabies vaccinations. This initiative aims to implement mass dog vaccination in the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) area to eliminate rabies.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the announcement was made during an advocacy meeting held at the CCC office at Tiger Pass. The meeting aimed to address the pressing need for rabies prevention and control within the city.
The meeting was chaired by CCC Chief Health Officer Dr. Md. Imam Hossain Rana. Acting Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of CCC Md. Ashraful Amin, along with other officials of the CCC, were present to discuss and strategize the implementation of the vaccination drive.
The initiative underscores the city's commitment to public health and safety by targeting rabies, a significant health concern. The CCC's comprehensive plan is anticipated to set an example for other regions in tackling similar public health challenges.
