Dhaka: Fourteen more people were hospitalized with dengue across the country in the last 24 hours, with no death reports during the period. A statement from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) provided this information.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, of the newly-hospitalized patients, three were admitted in Barishal Division (outside the city corporations), four in Chattogram Division (outside the city corporations), three in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), one in Khulna Division (outside the city corporations), and another in Rajshahi Division (outside the city corporation).
During the same period, 20 dengue patients were discharged from different hospitals. This brings the total number of patients released from hospitals to 949 so far this year. Since the beginning of the year, 1,095 people have been reportedly infected with dengue nationwide. Of these, 63.7 percent were male and 36.3 percent female.
Last year, a total of 102,861 dengue cases were reported, with 413 deaths, the report added.
