Dhaka: Twelve more fatalities have been reported in the ongoing measles outbreak, with four children succumbing to confirmed measles infections and eight deaths occurring among suspected measles cases within the last 24 hours, as detailed in the daily report from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the cumulative death toll from confirmed measles cases has now reached 74, while fatalities associated with suspected measles cases have escalated to 377 since the onset of the outbreak on March 15. In the most recent 24-hour period, authorities have documented 1,192 suspected measles cases alongside 111 confirmed infections.
Since the beginning of the outbreak, a total of 40,176 children exhibiting measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals nationwide. Of those suspected cases, 36,055 patients have successfully recovered and have been discharged from medical facilities.
