12 Arrested in Separate Cases During Special Police Drive in Lalmonirhat’s Aditmari

Lalmonirhat: Police arrested 12 people in separate cases during a special drive in Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat district. The information was disclosed in a press release issued on Friday afternoon by Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Aditmari Police Station Md Nazmul Haque.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the arrestees were identified as Adam Ali in a theft case; Moazzem Hossain, Rohij Uddin, and Bokul Hossain in drug-related cases; Ashik Mia and Ashraful Islam in a casino case; and Krishna Kanta, Abdul Aziz, Smriti Begum, Rumi Begum, and Mizanur Rahman under arrest warrants. Additionally, fugitive convicts Aminul Islam, sentenced to one year imprisonment, and Joygun Nesa, sentenced to six months imprisonment, were also arrested.

All the arrestees are residents of different areas of Aditmari upazila. OC Nazmul Haque stated that the accused persons, including convicted fugitives and warrant-listed individuals, had long been absconding. Acting on secret information, police conducted a special drive in dif
ferent areas of the upazila on Thursday night and arrested them. They were later produced before the court, the OC added.
