Dhaka: An 11-party alliance has expressed solidarity with the National Committee for the Prevention of Enforced Disappearances' initiative to march towards the Parliament and submit a memorandum to the Speaker. The alliance announced their support on Saturday, aligning with the committee's programme scheduled for Sunday, August 30, which coincides with the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the alliance's coordinator, Dr. AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad, signed a press release detailing the plans for the march. The procession is set to start in front of Rupayan Tower in the Bangla Motor area of Dhaka at 3 pm. The participants will proceed to the Parliament, where they intend to submit the memorandum to the Speaker.
In their statement, the 11-party alliance pledged full support for the programme and encouraged leaders, activists, and citizens nationwide to join the march and contribute to its success. The alliance underscored the importance of addressing enforced disappearances and urged for widespread participation in the event.
