11 DIGs, 2 Addl-DIGs Sent into Retirement by Government

Dhaka: The government has sent 11 Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) and two Additional Deputy Inspector Generals (Addl-DIGs) into retirement. The decision was communicated through a notification signed by Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Manzur Morshed Chowdhury. The order, deemed in the public interest, is effective immediately.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the officials who have been retired include Dr. AFM Masum Rabbani, Muhammad Ashrafuzzaman, AZM Nafiul Islam, Mohammad Abul Faiyez, Md Monirul Islam, Mahfuzur Rahman, Md Munibur Rahman, Shamima Begum, Md Abul Kalam Siddique, Md Aminul Islam, and Salma Begum. The two Addl-DIGs affected by the order are Md Shakhawat Hossain and Md Iqbal Hossain.



The notification specifies that the retirements were executed in the public interest under Section 45 of the Government Service Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018). It also assures that the individuals will receive all retirement benefits as per the regulations.
