10-Day Entrepreneurs’ Fair Showcases Women’s Handicrafts in Khulna

Khulna: A 10-day Entrepreneurs’ Fair organised by the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) began today at the BSCIC premises in the city’s Shibbari area. Additional Divisional Commissioner (Education and ICT) of Khulna Mohammad Nazmul Haque inaugurated the fair as the chief guest.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nazmul Haque highlighted that the fair is distinct as it focuses on entrepreneurs, with a majority of participants being women involved in small and cottage handicrafts. He noted that through small-scale initiatives, women are achieving financial independence while making a significant contribution to the national economy.



He further stated that the fair offers small entrepreneurs opportunities to promote and brand their products and helps build direct links between buyers and sellers. The event serves as a platform for showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity of women in the region.



Md Ariful Islam, Deputy Director of the Local Government Department under the district administration, chaired the programme. Deputy Police Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police Abdullah Al-Masum and BSCIC Regional Director Badal Chandra Halder attended as special guests, lending support to the initiative.



Tahera Nasrin, Manager of the BSCIC Regional Office, delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the event. Golam Saklain, Deputy General Manager of the BSCIC District Office, offered greetings, emphasizing the significance of the fair.



Organised by the BSCIC Khulna District Office with support from the district administration, the fair features 40 stalls and will remain open daily from 9 am to 9 pm. After the inauguration, the chief guest and other dignitaries visited various stalls at the fair, engaging with participants and appreciating their efforts.
