Members of Rapid Action Battalion
(RAB) recovered 1.1 kilograms of heroin from the Padma river bank at
Chapainawabganj sadar upazila on Monday night.
RAB said, acting on detective information, an operation team of the RAB-5
conducted a raid at the bank of Padma river in Goaldubi village under
Charbagdanga union of Chapainawabganj sadar upazila around 11.23 pm and
recovered the contraband drugs.
None was arrested in this connection as the bearer fled away sensing the
presence of the elite force, the sources said.
Later, the RAB team deposited the seized goods with Chapainawabganj Sadar
Police Station and filed a general diary in this connection, it added.
