All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has urged the fans to see the good that the Bangladesh team has achieved recently instead of highlighting the errors.

Bangladesh has been always been considered the shaky team in the shortest format of international cricket. But the Tigers have done well against Australia and New Zealand at home. In the last 13 matches, Bangladesh registered nine wins. They were never this high in this format.

But the wickets where the Tigers beat Australia and New Zealand in consecutive series were criticized by the specialists. Former Bangladesh Test captain Aminul Islam was amongst them. According to him, the recent wins at home will give the Tigers a false sense of confidence.

Shakib is not buying this idea. He, instead, said the spectators should see the good that the team has done. He urged not to see the errors that came along the way.

“If you only want to see the errors, there is plenty of that,” he told reporters during an event on Sunday. “So instead of errors, please see the good, you will find many. You have to understand your attitude— how you see things around you.”

Bangladesh beat Australia 4-1, and New Zealand 3-2. In both series, Bangladesh’s spinners played the biggest role while batsmen were out of their best performance.

It’s highly unlikely that the Tigers will get the same sort of wickets in the T20 World Cup which is set to take place in October-November in Oman and UAE. However, Shakib believes the team spirit is the main key to win matches.

“The biggest reason behind our win has been to play as a team,” he added. “I feel that everyone played well. Especially the young players performed well, and we played as a team.”

Bangladesh will start their World Cup campaign with the match against Scotland. In the first round of the World Cup, the Tigers will then face Oman and PNG.
