Samsung Galaxy F22 Full Review

Design

Designers can’t break out from the usual design pattern with the Samsung Galaxy F22. The phone resembles Samsung’s other phones in the same price range.

Both the front and frame of the Galaxy F22 are made of plastic. For a straight matte textures finish, the back doesn’t take much finger stain. The phone has kept a dimension of 160 x 74 x 9.4 mm, and it weighs just 203 g. This makes the phone a bit bulky. Nevertheless, it fits comfortably in hand and is easy to maneuver. The phone is available in two colors- Denim Black, Denim Blue.

On the right, volume control, as well as a side-mounted quick fingerprint reader, will be found. On the bottom are a 3.5mm audio port. A Type-C USB port, a loudspeaker, and a speaker. On the top is a secondary noise cancellation microphone.

Display

The 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display is given to the Samsung Galaxy F22. It comes with a 720 x 1600p screen resolution, with a maximum brightness level of 600nits, 90Hz refresh rate, and 274pppi pixel density. The display supports HDR technology, which enables it to provide better visuals on the screen.

The display’s color depiction capability and viewing angles are adequate for getting a Samsung standard display experience. Users will face any issue with reading and typing. Users can stream movies in Full HD quality on sites like YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. Unfortunately, there is no glass protection given, and the screen is neither splash-proof nor water-resistant.

The Rear Lenses

In terms of cameras, the Galaxy F22 has opted for the most basic combination possible at that price point. On the camera panel, users will get a 48MP wide lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The phone’s camera settings include Macro mode, portrait mode, time-lapse, slow motion, and a maximum 1080p video recording rate of 30 frames per second.

The daylight photoshoot is extremely good, with realistic colors and a well-balanced dynamic range. The details in the foliage and plants may be a little hazy at times. There is a pro color option that boosts the image’s saturation level. It will be adored by those who like vivid colors.

The dedicated 48MP mode takes pictures with great quality but with considerable noise.

In low-light conditions, the camera delivers noisier pictures with an extent of smeared details. Turning on night mode improves cameras’ exposure level to some degree. However, the loud effect and broken details remain.

Selfie Camera

Once again, a 13MP lens in a budget phone has come to light. Though it’s not a leap from the norm still, the selfie camera takes great self-portraits in good lighting. As a result, selfie lovers will not be disappointed by the Samsung Galaxy F22.

The pictures are detailed and sharp-looking. The performance of the portrait mode is also laudable. A few soft edges may emerge in certain cases due to factors like stray hairs and excessive dust in the environment. Users can capture around 1080p video at a 30 frame per second speed with this frontless.

Performance, Software & UI

The performance of Galaxy F22 stands on the MediaTek Helio G80 processor is promising and creates an edge for the phone. This latest Samsung phone does not have any issue in touch-responsiveness or latency, which we have seen in the ancestor phones.

The F 22’s capacity to run games is unquestionable. High-definition games like PUBG, Asphalt 9, and COD run pretty smoothly without occurring any discernible overheating or lagging. The octa-core processor is supported with a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.

The phone has used android 11 based One UI Core 3.1, manufactured by Samsung and has almost the same proficiency as the stock android skin, only with more functionalities.

Battery and Charger

The Samsung Galaxy F22 comes with a 6,000mAh battery that lasts a long time. Users will have a full day of battery support with moderate use with even about half the battery capacity. Even many hours of intense gaming will not deplete the battery in a single day. You can charge the phone overnight and have it ready for usage for two full days. The phone presents a 15W charger, which isn’t as quick as prior generations’ chargers. But it still can do the job in fewer hours.

Price in Bangladesh

Only one variation of the Samsung Galaxy F22 is now available in Bangladesh. Users can buy the 6GB 128GB variant at BDT 19,000.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy F22 is an average yet efficient device that advances in certain areas without lacking the most common features. It is an ordinary-looking phone, but appearances do not tell the whole story. If the phone’s performance is essential to you under an affordable price range, the MediaTek Helio G80 won’t be a bad processor. But some rivals can provide a bit more bang for your buck. Aside from that, the 48MP camera system doesn’t really set apart from other phones in the same price range. However, considering all the features of the Galaxy F22, its price seems quite reasonable.
