The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is the successor to their hugely popular phone from last year, the Redmi Note 10. The phone was launched on 9th February 2022 in China with a scheduled global release. With a strong camera, display and performance, the Redmi Note 11 brings value for money unlike any other. Let’s take a deep dive into the details.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Key Features

Design and Build Quality

The Redmi Note 11 brings some high-end features for a fraction of the price. Naturally, it brings some cut corners to the device. And the most prominent one is in the build quality.

The Redmi Note 11 is an all-around polycarbonate phone with a plastic frame. This might feel like a letdown considering the phone easily bends with the slightest pressure. Other than that, the design of the Note 11 is fairly standard. Xiaomi has opted for a Gorilla Glass 3 for the front display protection. It is definitely a step up rather than not having any certification at all.

The device features the power button and the volume rocker on the right side. The sim tray is the sole cut out on the left side. It has a slot for two sim cards along with a micro-SD card.

The top of the phone has a 3.5 mm headphone jack which is increasingly becoming rare in 2022. There is an IR blaster as well as a secondary mic on the top along with a stereo speaker. The charging port and the main speaker are situated on the bottom as usual.

Overall, the design and build quality leave much to be desired but the aggressive pricing should also be kept in mind.

The Display

Moving onto the display, the Note 11 features a 6.43-inch FHD+ 90 Hz AMOLED panel. The panel is everything you’d expect from an AMOLED screen. The 90 Hz refresh brings a smoother touch compared to the previous generation.

The display is a show stealer here as it far exceeds the expectation at this price point. The details and sharpness are on point here. There is a usual warm hue to the display like other Xiaomi devices. But it can be easily customized in the display settings.

There aren’t any color shifts in the device and the viewing angles are also great. The display has an average brightness of 700 nits, a solid upgrade from last year’s 450 nits. The peak brightness of the display can reach up to 1000 nits which are perfect for outdoor viewing. Overall, it’s the display to beat at this price range.

The Camera

Xiaomi has always been big on cameras regardless of the budget. The Note 11 features a quad camera setup just like its predecessor. But this time, Xiaomi brought in a 50 MP f/1.8 wide-angle sensor. The main lens is complemented by an 8MP ultrawide lens and 2 MP macro and depth sensors. The macro and the depth sensors are only good on paper as it virtually doesn’t produce any mentionable result.

Camera samples from the main and the wide-angle shooter came out better than expected. The main sensor does an excellent job of capturing details in daylight conditions. It captures a decent amount of dynamic range and reproduces colors accordingly. However, the sensors struggle a bit with artificial lighting as there are some noticeable noises in the image. The front camera is a standard 13 MP shooter which gets the job done without a hiccup. Other than that, these are amazing sensors capable of taking quality shots. However, the video capabilities are limited to 1080P at 30 fps.

Processor and Performance

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 has a Snapdragon 680 4G chipset built on the 6 Nm architecture. The processor sits in between the flagship and the entry-level chipsets from Snapdragon. At its core, there is an octa-core 4 2.4 GHz Kryo 265 Gold and 4 1.9 GHz Kryo 265 Silver chips. It’s a different design from the usual cortex chips but the processor delivers in performance.

Being a 6 Nm processor, the chipset is power efficient. It is coupled with Adreno 610 GPU for better graphics performance.

The performance is clearly visible as the device breezes through daily tasks with ease. The processor also does an excellent job of handling graphic-intensive games. Titles like Asphalt 9, PUBG, and COD run smoothly without any thermal throttling or stutters. This phone can be a great buy for people looking for a moderate gaming device on a budget.

The OS here is the same MIUI 13 based on Android 11. MIUI can be a bit difficult for people jumping onto Xiaomi phones for the first time. It is more of an acquired taste that is developed over time. However, previous Xiaomi users will feel right at home as it’s the same UI found even on the higher-end models as well.

Battery and Charge Time

Xiaomi phones have long been noted for their incredible battery life. The Note 11 also follows suit in this regard. The phone has a 5000 mAh battery which provides around 5 to 6 hours of SoT. The phone also has a 33W fast charging which goes from 0 to 100% in just 1 hour. There isn’t any wireless charging on this device and given the price point, it’s not surprising at all.

Price of Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 in Bangladesh

The phone is available in either 4/64 GB or 6/128 GB configuration. The phone isn’t officially available in Bangladesh yet. The international price of the basic variant is about $179 which is equivalent to BDT 15390.28. The conversion rate of $1 is BDT 85.98. However, the expected price at launch can vary depending on tax issues and company policy.

Verdict

Over the years, the Redmi line of phones from Xiaomi have earned the honor of “Premium mid-range” devices. Like most other Xiaomi devices, the Redmi Note 11 hits all the right notes for its budget. The phone has a great camera and a decent processor with great battery life. However, the build quality might feel a bit cheap but that is as far as complaints go with this device. This phone is an excellent buy for people looking for premium performance at a mid-range budget.
