Bangladesh Railway has inaugurated inter-city ‘Upukul Express’ on Dhaka-Noakhali-Dhaka route after replacing the previous one with while coaches.
Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan inaugurated the inter-city train from Kamalapur Railway Station.
In an effort to make a balanced communication, the government has taken many projects to refurbish railway sectors with utmost importance, said the minister.
He also hoped to introduce more train services with new coaches.
The government also planned to bring some changes in ticket management which will be known soon, he added.
The new train has 16 coaches with 789 seats. Of these, 349 are AC seats while 440 are Shobhan chairs.
HM Ibrahim, member of Parliamentary Committee on Railway Ministry and MP of Noakhali-1 constituency was present at the event.
