Motorcyclist dies after being struck by truck in capital’s Darus Salam

A motorcyclist died after being hit by a truck at the Technical Mor intersection of Darus Salam in the capital Saturday night.

The accident occurred at 8:30pm and the critically injured Md Jabed Majumder, 45, was rushed to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

He was declared dead at 10:45pm, said Abdullah Khan, sub-inspector of DMCH Police Outpost.

Majumder, from Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla, lived in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur with his family. He left behind his wife, two sons and one daughter.

Widowed Munni Akhter said: “My husband was a businessman. As he was returning home on a motorcycle, a truck hit him at Technical intersection. He was first taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and then shifted to DMCH where he died of his injuries.”

“The body has been kept at the DMCH morgue for autopsy. The concerned police station has been informed of the accident,” Abdullah Khan said.
