A total of 57,574 people were inoculated with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in Chandpur on the first day of the mass vaccination campaign.
“The mass vaccination drive against Covid-19 went smoothly on its first day (Saturday) at 92 centers across the district,” Civil Surgeon of Chandpur Dr M Sakhawatullah told UNB.
Further to the north-east of the country, 22,753 people in Sylhet city alone got their Covid-19 jabs on the day.
The drive went on at 81 vaccination centers in the city.
Dr Zahidul Islam, medical officer of the Sylhet City Corporation, confirmed the information to UNB.
