Professor M Mizanur Rahman of accounting and information system and Professor M Jahangir Hossain of Islamic history and culture departments were elected as president and general secretary of the Islamic University Teachers’ Association (IUTA) Sunday.
IUTA chief election commissioner Professor KM Abdus Sobahan announced the results at 8pm.
A total of 346 teachers cast their votes at the university in Kushtia.
Professor Anowarul Haque Shopon was elected vice-president and Professor Mohammad Mizanur Rahman joint-secretary, and M Abdul Bari treasurer.
The other members of the committee are Professor Shamsul Alam, Anowar Hossain, Mahbubul Arfin, Nurun Nahar, Abdus Shaheed Miah, M Jahidul Islam, Gazi M Arifuzzaman Khan, Khodeza Khatun, Rofiqul Islam and M Shahinuzzaman.
