ELLA Pad’s zero waste initiative: 12 rural women display green products

A group of rural women of Gaibandha and Kurigram districts have been showcasing their green products including sanitary pads and underwear at an exhibition organized by ELLa Pad titled “Zero Waste Initiative”.

This group of 12 underprivileged young women is also showcasing how they ensured zero waste in their production process.

The closing event of the exhibition will be held on Wednesday at 4 pm at Policeline Road, Gaibandha.

ELLA Pad has developed the capacity of these underprivileged women entrepreneurs of different char area of Gaibandha and Kurigram districts to reuse the textile and garment scraps (jhut) to make valuable hygiene stuffs like sanitary pads, underwear, and other valuable items.

This innovative zero waste and low-cost production techniques has drawn the attention of local people and many visitors from surrounding districts, said a press release.

ELLA Pad has been using eco-friendly textile factories to create reusable face masks from scraps of textiles and distributing them for free in Bangladesh.
