Cash, gold dug out from Ukhiya camp, Rohingya couple held

Two Rohingyas were held Saturday as members of the Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) recovered foreign and Bangladeshi currency, gold and gold bars upon digging the floor of their house in Kutupalong camp in Ukhiya.

The arrestees were identified as Md Ayub and his wife Nure Nesa.

They were arrested during a drive in Rohingya Camp-5 in Kutupalong on Saturday night.

Tipped off, a team of APBn members posted in the camp conducted the drive and arrested Ayub and Nure Nesa, he said. 14th APBn commander SP Md. Naimul Haque said digging the mud floor of the arrestee’s house, 31,74,870 Kyat, Tk 26,03,120, three gold bars and gold ornaments were recovered

14 APBn police will file a case in this connection with the Ukhiya police station.
