Coming from behind, Muktijoddha Sangsad KC got first victory in their 5th match of the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football beating giant-killer Swadhinata Krira Sangha by 2-1 goals at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj on Friday.

With the day’s long awaited victory after suffering four consecutive defeats, Muktijoddha SKC opened their account with three points from five matches to move up to the 11th slot in the league table toppling Rahmatganj MFS , which bagged one point from five encounters.

Newcomers Swadhinata KS, which came to the limelight beating last two times champions Bashindhsra Kings 1-0 in the league opener, remained at the 9th slot with four points from five matches.

After a barren first half in the day’s lone match, , Bosnian forward Nedo Turković put Swadhinata KS ahead in the 54th minute (1-0) .

But, Muktijoddha SKC levelled the margin by a gifted goal in the 80th minute when Swadhinata KS defender Hasan Murad sent the ball to his own net while trying to foil an attempt of Muktijoddha’s Egyptian forward Ahmed Ayman Shamsaldin Abdalazem (1-1)

Finally, Japanese forward Tetsuaki Misawa scored the match-winner for the freedom fighters team just three minutes later (2-1) with the frustrations of the newcomers.
