After winning the first match of the five-match youth ODI series against Afghanistan, Bangladesh have won the second match as well.
The junior Tigers won Sunday’s match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium by three wickets, with 161 balls to play.
Earlier, Afghanistan won the toss and chose to bat first. Riding on 25 of opener Sabawoon Banoori, they posted 101 in 42.3 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh chased down the target of 102 in 23.1 overs, losing seven wickets.
Openers Mofijul Islam made 31 – the highest score by any batsman in the match – and Prantik Nawrose Nabil 24 for the hosts.
Afghan leg-spinner Izharulhaq Naveed bagged four wickets for 29 runs in 7.1 overs; left-arm spinner Shahidullah Hasani took three, conceding 30 runs in six overs.
Earlier, Bangladesh left-arm spinner Naimur Rahman Nayon bagged four wickets, conceding only 14 runs in 10 overs.
For his outstanding bowling performance, Naimur won the player of the match award.
The remaining matches of the series will take place at the same venue on September 17, 19 and 22.
