Ghatail Region emerged champions in the Bangladesh Army Aquatics competition that concluded Sunday at the Rangpur Cantonment.
Ghatail’s winning tally comprised 10 gold, four silver and seven bronze medals.
Jashore Region team finished runners-up collecting seven gold, four silver and two bronze medals .
Corporal Faisal Ahmed of Ghatail was adjudged the best swimmer of the meet.
In the Water Polo competition, Rangpur Region became champions and Dhaka Region finished runners up.
Senior Warrant officer of Rangpur Region M Monir Hossain was adjudged the best water polo player.
GOC of the 66 Infantry Division and Area Commander of Rangpur Area Maj Gen SM Kamrul Hasan was the chief guest at Sunday’s closing ceremony and later he distributed the prizes.
A total 14 teams of different Army formations took part in the meet.
