A mobile court Sunday fined three more Sylhet hotels for hosting wedding receptions, attended by more than 100 guests, violating coronavirus restrictions.
A mobile court led by Sylhet District Administration Executive Magistrate Md Mezbah Uddin fined Hotel Valley Garden Tk20,000; Grand Buffet Restaurant and Bay Leaf Chinese Restaurant Tk50,000 each.
So far five Sylhet city hotels have been slapped with fines for hosting weddings with more than 100 guests amid coronavirus restrictions.
The mobile court of Mezbah Uddin fined Hiltown Hotel Tk1 lakh and Rainbow Guest House Tk50,000 Friday. A wedding planner was also slapped with a fine of Tk10,000 during the drive.
Mezbah said, “The events at three Sylhet hotels on Sunday, where more than 50 people gathered, were in violation of the current Covid-19 regulations and should not have taken place.”
