Youth killed in bomb blasts in city: Police

DHAKA, March 24, 2107 (BSS) - An unknown youth blew himself up with a big sound near a police check post on airport road in Uttara here this evening, police said.

"The youth aged about 24-28 killed himself by exploding a bomb in front of the police box at the airport intersection at about 7:40pm," Officer-in-Charge of Airport Police Station Nur-e-Azam Mia said.

"It might be a suicide attack . . . but details could not be known immediately. Investigation is going on to this end," he added.

Meanwhile, a traffic police who witnessed the incident told the news agency the youth blew himself up as police stopped him on suspicion near the police cheek post.
