A court here today sentenced a woman to life-term imprisonment for killing her husband in Sadar Upazila in 2011.
District and Sessions Judge Md Rahibul Islam handed down the verdict to Dilu Begum, 28, hailed from Kalidaser Bag village in Sadar Upazila.
According to the prosecution convict Dilu Begum strangled her husband Ali Mohon to death at their house over family feud at the night on March 30 in 2011. Following the murder, victim's mother filed a case with Lakshmipur Sadar Model Thana accusing Dilu Begum. Police pressed the charge sheet on September 19 in the year.
Testifying witnesses and evidences the court gave the order in absence of Dilu Begum who remains absconding.
The court also fined Dilu Begum Tk 10000. If she is failed to pay the amount she will have to serve one year more in jail, said Public Prosecutor Md Jasim Uddin.
