Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have arrested a man from Hathazari upazila of Chattogram district in connection with the recovery of the body of a woman from a Cox’s Bazar hotel on February 15.
The arrestee was identified as Mostafizur Rahman, son of Abdul Jabbar of Sadar upazila in Bagerhat district.
Rab-7 disclosed the information at a press briefing on Saturday.
Mostafizur along with the woman, identifying themselves as a couple, rented a room in ‘Sea Bird’ hotel on February 14.

On the following day, police recovered the body of the woman after breaking open the door of the hotel room.
After examining the CCTV footage, the elite force identified Mostafizur and arrested him from Hathazari upazila on Friday night.
During primary interrogation, Mostafizur confessed that he strangled the woman to death following a brawl, said RAB.
