Wife among 2 to die for ASI Humayun murder

DHAKA, May 30, 2017 (BSS) - A court here today awarded death sentence to a woman and his friend for killing her husband Humayun Kabir, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police.

Speedy Trial Tribunal-4, Dhaka Judge Abdur Rahman Sarder passed the order.

Condemned convicts Rahima Sultana, wife of the slain police official, was on the dock while her boyfriend Md Rafaye is still on the run.

The court awarded life term imprisonment to another fugitive accused Ria Khatun.

Rahima Sultana in connivance with other convicts killed her husband ASI Humayun at their city's Mirpur house on December 13, 2013, according to the case details.

A murder case was lodged with Mirpur Police Station to this end.

Humayun was an ASI of Dhaka's Shah Ali Police Station and his wife Rahima was a nurse of Dhaka's National Heart Foundation Hospital.

The trial in the case started on June 14 in 2015.
