Voting in Dhaka Bar Association polls ends

Second day’s voting in two-day polls to elect the office bearers for 2021-2022 of Dhaka Bar Association, believed to be the largest Bar of Asia, ended at 5 pm today.

The balloting started at 9 am and continued till 5 pm with one hour recess from 1 pm to 2 pm.

A total of 3,988 voters exercised their franchise on yesterday, while 4,718 voters casted their ballots today.

Pro-independence Sammilito Ainjibi Samannay Parishad candidates took part in the election under White Panel, while BNP-Jamaat supported candidates contested under Blue Panel.

Abdul Baten and Md Firojur Rahman Montu are contesting for the posts of president and general secretary respectively from White Panel, while Md Mosleh Uddin Jashim and Khandaker Md Hazrat Ali are vying for the posts from Blue Panel.

Dhaka Metropolitan Public Prosecutor Abdullah Abu conducted the polls as the Chief Election Commissioner.
