Members of smart patrolling team of Forest Department seized eight kgs of venison with deer skin from Nilbari canal in Sharankhola upazila of Bagerhat district on Monday.
Mohammad Belayet Hossain, divisional Forest Officer of Sundarbans East zone, said a team of smart patrolling challenged an engine-run boat at the canal and seized eight kgs of venison and deer skin in the morning.
Later, the seized venison and skin were kept under the earth after pouring kerosene.
However, the forest officials failed to arrest any poachers as they managed to flee the scene sensing the presence of the smart patrolling team.
