Two teenage boys were killed and five
others injured as a brick crushing machine skidded off the road and hit a
tree in Sadar upazila this morning.
The deceased were identified as Mehedi, 15, a class nine student and Naim,
14, a class eight student. Both were the residents of Dewji village under the
upazila and engaged in brick breaking during the lockdown vacation.
Local people said the accident occurred as the driver of the brick crushing
machine lost his control over the steering in Dumur intersection, leaving the
duo critically injured.
The wounded Mehedi died at Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital
while Naim succumbed to his injuries at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College
Hospital in Bogura, Bahauddin Faruki, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sirajganj
Sadar Thana, confirmed.
A case was filed in this connection, he added.
