Two snatchers held in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, - Detectives of Chattogram Metropolitan

Police (CMP) in a drive arrested a two-member band of snatchers from city's

Shah Amant Shah road under Kotwali thana early today.

Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, assistant deputy commissioner of Detective Branch

CMP said the alleged snatchers had been mugging for long beside the

Chattogram central jail area targeting the pedestrians and female in the

area.

The arrestees were identified as Sujan, 24, hailed from Dhaka and Abdul

Kader Shanto, 25, hailing from Chandpur district.

Based on secret information, a team of Kotwali thana police in a drive

arrested them from north side of Chattogram central jail at 2 am early today.

Police also recovered a country made LG gun, two cartridges, two knives and

looted mobile phones from their possession.

The arrested snatchers confessed that they had been mugging pedestrians,

especially females targeting their smart phones, purses, cash and valuables

at the aforesaid area for long, Mizan added.

A case was filed with Kotwali thana in this connection.
