A team of joint task force of law enforcers seized two kilograms of heroin from a Chattogram-bound Super Sony passenger bus coming from Meherpur on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway under Sitakunda upazila this morning.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Chattogram Battalion-8, Narcotics Control Directorate and Police Task Force conducted the drive and recovered the heroin wrapped in a packet in a travel bag in an abandoned state.
Lt. Col. Shahed Minhaz Siddique, commanding officer of BGB Battalion-8 in Chattogram, said based on secret information, the law enforcers stopped the bus and recovered the heroin on the spot.
None was arrested in this connection as no claimer of the bag was found, he said, adding that they are trying to identify the carrier of the bag.
