Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two
alleged drug traders with 576 pieces of Yaba tablets from the Modern Mour
area in the metropolis on Thursday night.
The arrested persons were identified as Md Moynul Islam, 55, and Md Mominul
Islam alias Momin, 28, of Ashratpur Modern area under Ward no-15 of Rangpur
City Corporation.
“On a tip off, an operational team of the Crime Prevention Specialized
company of RAB-13 arrested them with the Yaba tablets from the spot,” said a
press release issued here today.
The elite force also seized two mobile phone sets and cash money from the
possessions of the detainees during the raid.
During primary interrogation, the detainees admitted that they had been
involved in trading drugs in connivance with their other cohorts for a long
time.
After filing a case in this connection against the arrested persons, the
elite force handed them over to Tajhat police station of Rangpur Metropolitan
Police today.
“More investigation continues secretly to nab other absconding associates of
the arrested persons,” the release added.
