Two gets death penalty, one life for Amit murder

DHAKA, Dec 15, 2016 (BSS) - A court here today awarded death penalty to two and life time imprisonment for one on charge of Amit Saha murder on November 21 in 2012.

A Speedy Trail-1 Court Judge Shahed Noor Uddin passed the verdict against three accused on charge of Amit Saha murder.

He awarded death penalty of Ashfak Ahmed Shihab and Al Amin Islam Pintu, while another accused Ruhul Amin Rubel was given lifetime imprisonment.

The prosecution story in brief is that, the three convicts are friend of victim Amit. Amit Saha was a student of business faculty of the Eastern University in Dhaka. He was found murdered at his house in the city's Pallabi area on November 21 in 2012, it said.

The convicts also hanged the body with a ceiling fan of the house and took away laptops, gold ornaments, mobile phone and cash.

Later, Amit's father Shyamol Chandra Bhuiyan filed a case with Pallabi Police Station in the connection.

After examine the witnesses and others documents the judge declared the verdict.
