DHAKA, March 15, 2023 (BSS) - Three Vice-Chancellors (VCs) of three universities paid a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban here this evening.
The VCs were Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (BSMRMU) Vice-Chancellor Real Admiral Mohammad Musa, Feni University VC Professor Dr. Md Jamaluddin Ahmed and Rangamati Science and Technology University (RMSTU) VC Professor Dr. Selina Akhter.
The President, also the Chancellor of the universities, welcomed them at Bangabhaban, President's Press Secretary Md. Joynal Abedin told BSS later.
During the meeting, the VCs highlighted the educational programs and infrastructure of their respective universities.
The Head of the State gave them a patient hearing and assured of providing all necessary supports in running the varsities.
President Hamid also called for ensuring quality education and ensuring a congenial atmosphere on the campuses.
He asked the VCs to adopt fair recruitment method, avoid favoritism and ensure proper accommodation of genuine students.
President's Secretary Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salahuddin Islam, Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin and Secretary (Attachment) Md Wahidul Islam Khan were present there.
