Teletalk opens ‘Mujib Corner’

DHAKA, State-owned mobile phone operator Teletalk

today opened ‘Mujib Corner’ as part of celebrating the birth centenary of

Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar inaugurated the

corner at Teletalk’s headquarters as chief guest, said a press release here

today.

Speaking on the occasion, he said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was

the pioneer of evolving digital technology in the country.

He said Bangabandhu connected Bangladesh with international

telecommunication highway immediately after independence through receiving

ITU and UPU memberships and opening country’s first satellite earth station

in Betbunia.

Jabbar said hundreds of programmes are ready for implementation in the

Mujib Year regarding the contribution of Bangabandhu.

The minister also announced to open Mujib Corner in every organization

under Posts and Telecommunications ministry.

Teletalk Managing Director Md Shahab Uddin and other officials were

present on the occasion.
