The posts and telecommunications division (PTD) today launched the e-file tracking system to expadite movement of official filesand to ensure accountability, honesty and transparency in official procedures.
Now, anyone could notice the actual status of a file in the monitor set up under the system in the PTD.
State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim today
unveiled the monitoring system at a simple ceremony at her office this afternoon as part of her commitment that was made earlier in a programme of Bangladesh Post Office.
Speaking on the occasion, she said they have taken the move to ensure dynamism and transparency in the ministry for official works.
Terming the initiative is a part of "Digital Bangladesh" campaign under vision-2021, Tarana opined the system would stop the "pillow passing" in the official works.
"The process would stop intentional delay of a file and ensure the entire file work within two days," she added.
Replying to a query, the state minister said movement of all types of files would be displayed in the monitor except policy, guideline and research documents.
Tarana said by using app she would also monitor the process from outside the office.
She informed the file tracking system has been also discussed in today's cabinet meeting and many ministries have shown interest about it.
Under the system, anyone could see the last position of his/her file, who is the official and how many days the file was remained unsettle on the table. In addition minister's time consumption to finalize a file would also be displayed in the monitor.
