A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death by his rivals in Narayanganj sadar upazila on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Ibrahim, son of Amir Hossain of Crockerchar area of Alirtek of Sadar Thana.
Police arrested Yasin and Parveen in this connection.
Earlier on Friday evening, Ibrahim was killed by his rivals over a clash for playing football.
According to the locals, a scuffle broke out between Shawon, Shakil, Yunus, Yasin, Selim and Rifat Gang along with Ibrahim and his friends on Friday.
In the evening, Shakil, Yanus, Yasin, Shaon, Selim, Rifat and several others started to beat Ibrahim mercilessly. At one point, Shawon’s mother, accused Parveen, hacked Ibrahim’s with a sharp weapon, leaving him seriously injured.
Ibrahim was rushed to Narayanganj Victoria hospital (Victoria) in critical condition, but doctors there referred him to Dhaka in view of his worsening condition.
He died at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Saturday morning.
A case has been filed in this regard and legal action will be taken after investigating the incident, said Azizul Haque Hawlader, Inspector (Investigation) Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station.
