DHAKA, Jan 24, 2017 (BSS) - Susan Lorraine Lautze is the new representative of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Bangladesh.
She formally presented her credentials to Finance Minister AMA Muhith at his secretariat office in the city.
Lautze, who succeeds Mike Robson, was appointed on January 3 by FAO Director General Jose Granziano da Silva.
Since the establishment of the FAO Representation in Bangladesh in 1977, the FAO representative has been leading the planning and implementation of FAO programmes.
The current FAO portfolio in Bangladesh entails working closely with the government and a range of partners across an impressive breadth of areas including inter alia, agriculture, environment, fisheries, food systems, forestry, livestock, natural resources management, nutrition and resilient rural development.
