DHAKA, Dec 28, 2016 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 today asked the prosecution to submit formal charge in the crimes against humanity case against six alleged Razakars from Gaibandha on March 12.
"Justice Anwarul Haque, chairman of the three-member panel of the ICT-1, set the date as we pleaded for three-month time for the matter," said prosecutor Sabina Yesmin Khan Munni.
The accused are Abdul Jabbar Mandal, Jafijar Rahman, Abdul Wahed Mandal, Mamtaz Ali Bepari, Asgar Hossain Khan and Ronju Miah. Of the six, only Ronju is in jail now.
According to the case documents, all of accused acted as Razakars in Gaibandha during the War of Liberation.
"They killed nine people at Nandina village and burnt 50 houses to ashes in a single day in 1971. They also gunned down seven Freedom Fighters after putting them on immense torture," Munni added.
