Stop operations or face crack down on fake health businesses: Nasim

DHAKA, Jan 26, 2017 (BSS) - Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim today asked the people running fake or illegal clinics and diagnostic centres across the country and warned them that their illegal operations would be thwarted at any cost.

"Strike would hardly yield any result. Instead, you correct yourselves or face a total shut down of illegal operations of your fake clinics and diagnostic centres," he said while exchanging views with the physicians at National Institute of Ear, Nose and Throat (NIENT) at Tejgaon in the city.

Nasim said the government would not give any concession to illegal health businesses in the country despite pressures from the lobbyists or strikes called by the community.

The ongoing crackdown against unauthorized health businesses would continue, he added.

The minister also sought cooperation from people and requested them to have patience for the time being. The government, he said, would take a tough hand on illegal clinics and diagnostic centre as they kill more people than they cure.
