Stocks continue recovery on large-cap vibe

DHAKA, Feb 7, 2017 (BSS) - The stock markets in both Dhaka and Chittagong were slightly up today with a trend of recovery as the major indices were found finishing upwards with marginal rise of some large-cap securities.

The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 29 points up at 5392.10. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 5.41 points up at 1967.26 and 3.78 points up at 1261.08.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 77.61 points up at 16,646.34.

The daily turnover in volume was at DSE to 17.85 crore shares when the daily trade value was Taka 620.32 crore.

At DSE, out of the day's 326 traded issues, prices of 180 securities closed higher against 107 losing issues. At CSE, issues traded 237 while 128 closed higher against 89 closed lower.

The major gaining issues were ICB AMCL 2nd, ANLIMAYARN, Central PHL, Prime First ICBA and Al Arafah Bank. The major losing companies were Dulamia Cotton, GHIL, Sun Life Insurance, Rahim textile and Sonargoan.

The PDL topped the turnover leaders followed by ACI Formula, Central PHL, Islami Bank and Beximco.
