JASHORE, Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder has said stern action will be taken against the people who are involved in
corruption in purchasing of paddy and rice.
He said while replying to the questions of newsmen during a visit at
Noapara food warehouse in Abhaynagar upazila here on Monday.
During the visit, he also expressed satisfaction over the humidity and
quality of the purchased rice and paddy.
He said farmers are gathering at food warehouses with paddy as they
witnessed bumper paddy production three times in a row throughout the country
and they got fair price during the period.
He said necessary arrangements would be made to buy the rice directly from
the farmers in the days to come.
The minister was accompanied by Additional Secretary of the Food Ministry
Md Omar Faruq, Additional Director General of Food Department Md Abdul Aziz
Molla and other officials concerned.
