State minister distributes khas land among landless

MUNSHIGANJ, Feb 9, 2017 (BSS)- The government today distributed 30 acres of khas land among 61 landless families, affected by the Padma river erosion, at Gouddeoud under Louajong upazilla of the district.

State minister for land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury formally distributed 30 decimal agriculture khas land documents to each family at a function here with deputy commissioner Shaila Farzana in the chair.

Local parliamentarian Shagupta Yasmin Emili was preset as the special guest at the function.

Speaking as chief guest, the state minister said the people of the country never thought in the past they would get land and house at free of cost. He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is pledge-bound to ensure food, housing, education and health services for all.

Chowdhury said the reclaimed land would be leased out among landless families in phases.
