Speaker, Deputy Speaker pay homage to Liberation War Martyrs

Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin

Chaudhury today paid rich tribute to the martyred heroes of independence at

the National Mausoleum at Savar here marking the Independence and National

Day.

"Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury paid homage to the

martyrs of independence by placing floral wreaths at the National Mausoleum

at Savar," according to an official release here.

Later, the Speaker also paid homage by placing wreaths at the portrait of

Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi road-32

here.

Jatiya Sangsad Whips Iqbalur Rahim, Abu Sayeed Al Mahmood Swapon and Atiur

Rahman Atique, Pankaj Devnath, MP, Meher Afroz, MP, and Senior Secretary to

the parliament secretariat KM Abdus Salam were present, among others.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad M Shamsul Huq Tuku also paid

homage to the martyrs of independence at the National Mausoleum at Savar this

morning marking the 52nd anniversary of Independence.

The deputy speaker also observed silence recalling the memory of the

independence war martyrs.

Later, the deputy speaker also paid homage to the Father of the Nation

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his portrait at

Dhanmondi road-32 in the capital.
