Sheikh Hasina now a world leader: Speaker

Dhaka, Sep 28 (UNB)-Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Monday said, “Our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is not only the leader of Bangladesh but a world leader. Her name ranks at the top among the powerful leaders of the world. Now the world community praises Sheikh Hasina for her strategic leadership. We see a rare combination of many qualities in her. ”

The Speaker said this while delivering a speech via online platform as chief guest at a round table event held marking the 74th Birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Hasumonir Pathshala, a library and research-oriented sociocultural institution, organised the event titled ‘Sheikh Hasina: Dream, Struggle and Pursuit’ at National Museum in Shahbag.

“Now, Bangladesh is a surprising role model of the world under the dynamic leadership of Sheikh Hasina. Our people always stand with her,” she said urging people to strengthen PM’s hand to build a prosperous country.

Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said, “Hasina got inspired from her Father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to fight with moral, love for rural Bengal and work for the welfare of the people. The people saw the light of hope after her return on 17 May 1981. He promised to bring to justice the anti-national war criminals and murderers of Bangabandhu on the soil of this country. He has kept his word even in the face of many challenges.”

“We have to spread out the political ideals of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina to the younger generation. And this requires analytical discussion. He is a perfect example of politics for us. We have to work to enliven the young society through the way he reflected his ideology and political philosophy in ruling the country,” said Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel.

President of Hasumonir Pathshala and member of Awami League(AL) central executive committee Marufa Akter chaired the event while AL’ Organizing secretary Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud, Cultural Secretary Asim Kumer MP, Chhatra League ex- president Mainuddin Hasan spoke among others.
