Despite the all round performance from Bangladeshi start Shakib Al Hasan, Barbados Tridents tasted a disappointing one run loss to St Kitts and Navis Patriots in their eighth match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) at Bridgetown on Saturday.
After opening the bowling, Shakib put up an economical bowling performance claiming 1 14 in four overs before hitting a fluent 25 ball 38 runs but still Barbados ended up losing the game, according to CPL website.
St Kitts and Navis Patriots were restricted to 149 7 in 20 overs with Shamarh Brooks blasting 53 off 33 with six fours and two sixes. Carlos Brathwaite and Devon Thomas made 20 runs each.
Shakib came to the crease after his side was reeling to 15 1 and he helped the side recover the shaky start with 25 ball 38. But after his departure no one could take the responsibility to sail the side home. Paul Reifier was the other notable scorer for Barbados with 34.
