SC stays Manna’s bail

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court today stayed bail of Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna till November 27 in a case filed for allegedly inciting the armed forces to topple the government.

A four-member Appellate Division panel headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha passed the order, leaving the state with an opportunity to file a leave to appeal against the bail order.

The High Court on November 10 granted Manna bail, making the state to file an appeal with the apex court against the order.
