DHAKA, Nepal took a surprise lead in the first half as they were leading by 1-0 goal in their must win match against Bangladesh in the SAFF U-15 Championship at Kalyani Stadium in West Bengal on Tuesday.
Bangladesh and hosts India have six points from two matches each, three more than Nepal and Sri Lanka who played two and three matches respectively. All losers Bhutan have no points from three outings.
A victory over Nepal will barge Bangladesh second successive final berth with the match against India remaining and the players are confident of crossing the Nepal hurdle after having posted two big wins over Bhutan (5-2) and Sri Lanka (7-1).
Nepal will keep their hopes alive for final if they are able to beat Bangladesh today. They will play against Bhutan in the last match on Thursday.
